Ostrich farm and Aloe Plantations
By leaving the dockside we will be moving to the east side of the island driving over the bridge connecting both sides of the harbor with a very nice view of Willemstad. Continue the drive passing commercial areas until we get to the aloe plantation. Once here, broad explanation and advantages of the plantations will be given. The production area can be seen and afterwards the store will be visited and a drink based on aloe will be offered. The store offers all kinds of products based on aloe for sale such as cremes for infections, skin problems and insect repellent. Next we will visit the ostrich farm, which has an African influence with over 400 ostriches. Included is a short tour of the plantation in a safari truck with a professional guide from the farm who will give all information on this, the biggest bird of the world. You will be able to see an ostrich egg in the final process of incubation with half baby ostrich out of the egg. It’s an unforgettable experience. The farm offers a terrace bar/restaurant and an authentic African souvenir shop. After the visit to the farm we will return to the dock.
