Venezuela south eastern territory is dominated by the Guyana Highlands and further 30% of the country is taken up by the vast grassland plain of the central Llanos, which is chained by the Orinoco River. Maracaibo Lake lies in the north-east, surrounded by fertile lowlands.

South of the lake rise the northern end of the Andes, which peak to 5,007 meters at Pico Bolívar. The Highland meadows called The Andean Páramos are home to some of Venezuela's most amazing plant species. Equally diverse flora can be found in the Tepuys (huge flat-topped mountains) in the south east of the country, the Amazonia Orinoquia Region, particularly Roraima.

Venezuela is the Gateway to South America, located at the northern part in the middle of the tropics just above the Equator, bathed with the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, adjusts 40 minutes from Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire and Grenada Islands.
